Into this time of need, we are thrilled to release an exciting new resource for campus ministers...
Builders: The Catholic Campus Minister’s Guide to Building Communities of Evangelization, was written by one of our very own members, Br. Sam Gunn. The book offers practical insights for conducting campus ministry taken from our 40 years of successfully running stand-alone student outreaches. Builders also includes helpful approaches used by organizations who have ministered alongside the Brotherhood, such as CCMA, University Christian Outreach and Saint Paul’s Outreach.
“The pandemic requires us to be thoughtful and vigilant given the risks associated with in-person meetings by harnessing new skills, technologies and social media when evangelizing on campuses today,” said Br. Sam. “The Builders model for creating and nurturing a Christ-centered community can be successfully adapted by campus ministers to address the health and safety of students and staff, no matter the size of the group.”
Br. Ken Apuzzo, our General Superior, prays that Builders and similar resources "reassure campus ministers that they are not alone in their pursuit to evangelize on college campuses. They should draw encouragement and strength from Joshua’s command to the Israelites, ‘Do not fear nor be dismayed, for the Lord, your God, is with you wherever you go’” (Joshua 1:9).
