Through God’s divine providence, we celebrated with family and friends the profession of temporary vows by seven Brothers during a Mass on July 31st at St. Basil’s in Methuen, Massachusetts. We are blessed to have these men in our community, and excited to share with you that our numbers have increased by 50 percent over the past six years, from 18 to 27 Brothers. Thank you for your prayers and ongoing support!
Two men, Br. Joseph McBride and Br. Brennan Robinson, professed their first temporary vows. This joyous step followed a year of novitiate where both men prayed, studied and discerned their vocations while receiving formation during their year of “spiritual boot camp.”
As for their first assignments, this fall Br. Joseph began serving at the Catholic Center HUB at Northeastern University, while Br. Brennan joined our Rutgers University campus outreach.
In addition, the following five Brothers renewed their temporary vows at the July 31st Mass:
Br. Brandt Haglund, fifth temporary vows, serving at Florida State University
Br. Matthew Warnez, fifth temporary vows, serving at University of Minnesota (St. Lawrence Newman Center)
Br. Austin Riordan, fourth temporary vows, serving at Northeastern University
Br. Martin Buganski, third temporary vows, serving at University of Central Florida
Br. Patrick Stucker, third temporary vows, serving at Rutgers University
And who can forget the powerful celebration this past January when Br. Logan and Br. Ray professed their perpetual vows? This blessing increased the number of Brothers who have consecrated their lives to the Lord perpetually to 20 men!
“We are truly blessed to have these outstanding men seeking and following the Lord’s call for them to blaze the way to renew the Church,” said Br. Ken Apuzzo, our General Superior. “We are overjoyed with our Brothers’ desire to evangelize college students at a critical time in their lives and transform them into lifelong disciples of Christ.”
