On July 20, 2019, the Brotherhood of Hope rejoiced deeply when seven men displayed their humble obedience and love for God by professing their temporary vows during Mass at St. Basil’s in Methuen, Massachusetts. Since we’re grateful that many of you have prayed for our growth, we thought you’d appreciate reading a bit about these young Brothers.
Br. Martin Buganski professed his first vows with his parents Christina and Marty in attendance. Br. Martin is a native of Berkeley Heights, New Jersey with a nursing degree from Seton Hall University. Br. Martin is a new campus minister at the University of Central Florida in Orlando, one of the largest schools in the country. He enjoys dabbling in woodworking, playing guitar, competing in ultimate frisbee and making delicious homemade bagels that remind us of his Jersey roots!
Br. Patrick Stucker also professed his first vows with his parents Dorothy and Robert present on July 20th. A native of Cincinnati, Br. Patrick graduated from The Ohio State University with a BS in business administration. He now serves in our college outreach at Rutgers University. In addition to being an Eagle Scout and a loyal Buckeye, Br. Patrick enjoys reading great stories about great people, hiking, and playing ultimate frisbee.
Br. Austin Riordan, who professed his second temporary vows, serves in our Northeastern University mission. He graduated from the University of St. Thomas in Minnesota with a BA in communications and journalism, and a business management minor. His parents Paula and Matt, grandparents and Great Aunt Jeanie greatly influenced his faith while growing up. He is a native of Plover, Wisconsin, where he developed his love for the Polish dish of sliced radishes soaked in vinegar. He also produced our new video that’s received almost 70,000 views.
Br. Brandt Haglund, who professed his third temporary vows, serves in our outreach at Florida State University. Br. Brandt grew up in Willmar, Minnesota and graduated from the University
of Minnesota with a degree in global studies and political science. He credits his grandfather with having the most influence on his faith growing up. Br. Brandt enjoys reading history, gardening and visiting historic places. He also has an autograph by Rosa Parks, and he has flown an airplane solo!
Br. Matthew Warnez professed his third temporary vows in the Brotherhood on July 20th. He grew up in Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan, and he earned his bachelor’s degree in engineering physics at the University of Michigan. Before joining our community, Br. Matthew was an editor for Wikipedia. He currently is a campus minister at the University of Minnesota. He enjoys racquet sports, rhyming poetry and logic puzzles.
Br. Ray Morris credits his mom, grandmother and Br. Ken as the people having the most influence on his faith. He professed his fifth temporary vows at the Brotherhood’s ceremony. Br. Ray grew up near the beach in Long Branch, New Jersey and graduated from Rutgers University with a BA in political science. Serving now as an outreach leader at Florida State University, Br.
