Our Spirituality - Brotherhood of Hope

Jesus alone is enough for us.

The Brotherhood of Hope is a community of Catholic Brothers—we live together, pray together and serve together, under the inspiration of our founding charism that Jesus Christ is All-Sufficient. We double down on what’s essential to the Christian life. We live prophetically as celibate Brothers because we believe Jesus is enough to fulfill our deepest desires.

Anointed BrotherhoodWe stand side by side as brothers to the Lord Jesus and to one another. We are a spiritual family–brothers forged together as one in our way of life. As we live this gift of brotherhood, we experience a profound unity that is more than the sum of our commitments and individual efforts.

Revealing the Father’s HeartThe Father relentlessly pursues His sons and daughters - that they may embrace their filial dignity as co-heirs with Christ. Rooted in our identity as beloved sons, we have received the Father’s heart for His people. Therefore, we seek the spiritually poor to reveal to them the profound, personal love of the Father.

Wild Reliance on the Holy SpiritWe are men who have been set on fire by the outpouring of the Holy Spirit into our hearts. We find courage and consolation in knowing that the Spirit comes to our aid in our weakness, freeing us from relying on our own strength. In all our decisions we desire to be obedient to Him whose inspirations are unscripted. God’s power is manifested when we are radically reliant on the inspirations of the Holy Spirit.

Single Hearted WorshipWith undivided hearts, we surrender every aspect of our lives to the Lord. Our worship flows from, and is shaped by, each brother’s consecration and daily encounter with the Lord in prayer. When we are gathered in worship, our self-offering meets God in a singularly profound and transformative encounter. We put God first, and God alone.

Vulnerable GenerativityAs Christ offered himself on the cross, we vulnerably offer ourselves so that others may live. For the sake of the joy set before him, Christ endured the cross, so we humbly obey God’s word in patient endurance, boldly abandoning ourselves and trusting in the Fathers will.

The Sacred Heart of Jesus

Here's an image of the Sacred Heart of Jesus that we have in all our chapels. His heart has been bruised, pierced, and crowned with thorns. He's no stranger to pain and suffering.

Yet this is also a heart of Glory; a heart that has been resurrected. Nothing is impossible for the Lord. He can do all things.

We embrace the Sacred Heart of Jesus, enduring the pain and sufferings of the world for the Glory of the Lord, Jesus Christ.
